Prawn Wonton Garlic & Soy Noodles

Noodles in Fried Garlic Oil, with Choi Sum and Hong Kong-Style Prawn Dumplings

Famous for their cloud-like texture and delicate flavour, in Hong Kong’s family-run noodle shops, a bowl of wontons, also known as “Hong Kong Dumplings”, is an essential order.

Our hand-wrapped prawn wontons are served with Lo Mein (撈麵) style noodles and leafy choi sum, all tossed in an umami-rich garlic, soy and oyster sauce.

How to Cook:

  1. Remove film, open lid to sit loosely.
  2. Microwave on full power for 4 minutes (800W) or 3 minutes (900W).
  3. Carefully remove from microwave. Stir noodles well until covered in sauce. Replace lid loosely.
  4. Cook for a further 3 minutes 30 seconds (800W / 900W).  Serve and enjoy.

What is a wonton?
A wonton is a traditional dumpling made with a thin pastry wrapper and a savoury filling. In Hong Kong-style noodle dishes, wontons are often served in soups or alongside noodles.

What are Lo Mein style noodles?
Lo Mein is a popular Chinese noodle style where cooked noodles are tossed with sauce rather than served in broth. This helps coat every strand in flavour.

What makes these Garlic & Soy Noodles so flavourful?
This dish layers garlic throughout the recipe, with garlic-infused noodles paired with a rich garlic and soy sauce. The result is a savoury, deeply aromatic flavour that coats every strand of noodle.
