Sweet Teriyaki Chicken

Sweet Teriyaki Chicken

With Sticky Jasmine Rice

Our take on Teriyaki is rich, glossy and gently sweet. The sauce brings together savoury soy, warming garlic and ginger, and a touch of sweet chilli, finished with brown sugar for that irresistible shine. All served on a bed of sticky jasmine rice.

What is Teriyaki?
Teriyaki is a Japanese-inspired cooking style known for its glossy, savoury-sweet sauce. The name refers to both the flavour and the shine created when the sauce is heated, giving dishes their signature rich finish.

Is Teriyaki chicken sweet or savoury?
Teriyaki chicken is both. The flavour profile is designed to be sweet and savoury, offering richness without too much heat, which is why it’s such a popular choice.

Why is teriyaki sauce glossy?
The glossy finish comes from the way the sauce is cooked and thickened. When heated, the sugars and starches in the sauce create a smooth, shiny coating that clings to the chicken and rice.
